M1 Engineering apprentice Simon Binns wins the Frank Watson prize

M1 Engineering apprentice Simon Binns has won the Frank Watson prize from the Keighley Association of Engineers.

The prize is awarded every two years from nominations by local firms in the Bradford and Keighley areas and based on interviews with short listed candidates who are judged on their engineering knowledge and their contribution to their firms.

M1 employs at least 2 new apprentices each year and upon the successful completion of their training, they become a key part of our highly skilled workforce. Today around half of M1’s workforce have come through our in house apprenticeship programme.

M1’s Manufacturing Manager Neil Dixon says ‘we are very proud that Simon has won the Frank Watson prize which is a reflection both of Simon’s skills and dedication and also the high standards being achieved in our apprenticeship programme’.
